Can you please introduce yourself?
I am Iwuanorue Blessing, the owner and operator of Fabulous Frostings, a registered company that specializes in baked goods with specific emphasis on celebration cakes.
How long have you been into cake baking and pastries?
I have been into baking for more than ten years but professionally for eight years.
What type of cakes do you bake?
Birthday cakes mostly and wedding cakes occasionally.
How do you rate the patronage in okota?
It's been overwhelming I must say but it wasn't like this at the initial stage of the business. The number of clientele grew with time.
What are the challenges of baking business ?
There are a handful of challenges I have experienced as a baker from my own point of view. Baking is not for the faint hearted, you have to put in your best to achieve the best.
It is capital intensive, you have to work extra long hours and the short lifespan of baked goods is and still remains a baker's greatest nightmare not to mention the daily hike in the prices of raw materials.
We've had to generate our own electricity even with the fuel scarcity. In all, we thank God.
Where do you see your business in 5years?
In 5 years from now, I hope to have a storefront and a baking school where I can train young baking enthusiasts, God willing.
Your advice to the youths who are unemployed or who wants to venture into baking and your social handles ?
I want them to know that they have all it takes to achieve greatness in the baking industry or any where else with the determination,patience and zeal to learn and keep learning because life is all about learning.
