100 DAYS OF MEDIOCRITY AND FAILURE IN ADMINISTRATION OF HON. BAYO OLASOJU
ISOLO LCDA is witnessing another charade and poor leadership, The council boss who was the immediate past vice chairman of ISOLO LCDA during the second term tenure of Hon. Olaleye(shammeh) whose administration is adjudged to be worst in the history of the council and the whole Oshodi isolo constituency (1 & 2 )is walking the path of failure as his predecessor whose strategy was talking rather than working .
Hon. Bayo Olasoju upon resumption of duty as executive chairman of ISOLO LCDA embarked on infrastructural projects mainly in Akinbaiye and Alagbeji wards,These projects where welcomed and celebrated by unsuspecting residents and constituents. If careful reviewed you will see the quality of work done is poor and low in standard in addition zero transparency in the cost of projects.
Bad roads is still truncating business and investment into the council area , we have not seen a leadership which has a road map of boosting commerce even though we are located in between a sea port and an airport .
The state of health remains epileptic in the council area whereby a one day health clinic was organized for the elderly in akinbaiye ward by the administration .Access to this one day free health clinic was hard and sadly it was only for consultations where treatment was excluded. The Council leadership also converted a disputed plaza "Alagbeji Shopping plaza" which was built by Hon. Olaleye to Alagbeji primary health center.
Our primary schools and health centers are in a sorry state, sadly not all health centers take maternity e.g Apena and Okota wards. Ago-okota still does not have a public primary school, as much as the bus initiative by Shammeh was to ease pupils access to schools in the council. It serves only a very little percentage of pupils.
That’s why the easiest access to school is the siting, Public primary schools must be available in all wards in so doing becomes nearest to pupils and residents. Also the quality and welfare of both pupils and teachers must be addressed. Library and digital training must be enhanced through provision of modern learning equipment and environment.
Youth empowerment and engagement remains absent , ISOLO LCDA is so blessed with talented minds in different spheres of life. All the youths in ISOLO need is direction, policy and push from the council leadership to harness their potentials.
Security of the local council has been mortgaged to the leadership of the Nigerian union of road transport workers (NURTW) who are been repaid for their loyalty and contributions in the election as card carrying members of the ruling party. Security matters must never be politicized rather the Police and other security outfits in the state need to be encouraged and facilitated for effective policing of the community.
I strongly advice and urge the ISOLO LCDA administration to embark on life changing and legacy projects in order for posterity to be kind to them.
We must all come together irrespective of party affiliations and chart a progressive path towards the development of our dear community.
